Abortion Story: Oregon
Submitted to Abort73 by a 19-year-old woman on October 19, 2017
My partner and I decided to have an abortion last year. We were long distance at the time and never had an adult conversation about what was about to happen. At the last minute, as I was about to get the procedure, he begged me not to. I was so scared and I knew if I left I wouldn’t go back for the procedure. The stress and emotions took over my body and I fainted on the table. I woke up to my significant other and the nurse looking at me with a bright light above me. I decided to stay, and my partner just couldn’t take it. He left the room. I went through with the abortion, and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I felt so alone and cried the whole time. Not a second goes by that I don’t think about the choice I made. Some days are tougher than others and some of the tough times last for weeks. I just recently started an Instagram page to help support those who are suffering after an abortion. I want to share stories and spread positive messages that people will post on their social medias for a boost of support. Here is the page: @smallbeingbigdecision.
