Abortion Story: Dayton, OH

I had an abortion at age 18. I was an alcoholic and drug addict who could not care for myself, let alone a child! I couldn’t talk to my mom. My only friend just had an abortion and recommended that I do the same. They told me it wasn’t a baby and it would be like nothing happened. They lied. Right after the procedure, I knew I I'd done something very wrong. So wrong that I had better never tell anyone. I didn’t talk about it for ten years. I found myself at a church and told the pastor. I had a vision of my son at the age he would have been, ten. He had blond, curly hair and big blue eyes. He was hugging Jesus’ waists and said, “We forgive you, Mom.” That vision is etched into my heart and mind. It’s taken years to believe and receive my son's words. It’s important to share our stories so other people don’t have to suffer.
