Kourtney Kardashian and Abortion

Up until last week, I'd never heard the name "Kourtney Kardashian". Then all of a sudden internet headlines started popping up about her pregnancy, followed soon thereafter by headlines announcing her contemplations of abortion. These are the remarks that stood out to me from the People Magazine "exclusive":

"I can't even tell you how many people just say, 'Oh, get an abortion.' Like it's not a big deal."

"I looked online, and I was sitting on the bed hysterically crying, reading these stories of people who felt so guilty from having an abortion. I was reading these things of how many people are traumatized by it afterwards."

After scouring the Internet, Kardashian says she started to realize that an abortion wasn't an option for her. "I was just sitting there crying, thinking, 'I can't do that,' " she says. "And I felt in my body, this is meant to be. God does things for a reason, and I just felt like it was the right thing that was happening in my life."

"My doctor told me there is nothing you will ever regret about having the baby, but he was like, 'You may regret not having the baby.' And I was like: That is so true. And it just hit me."

Though we don't know specifically which websites Miss Kardashian sat crying in front of, Abort73 exists for situations just like these. An unmarried women faces an unplanned pregnancy while all around her friends are saying, "get an abortion... it's no big deal." Where does she turn to get some answers? That marvelous place called the internet. I've spent much of the last week analyzing the search-friendliness of the Abort73 website and have pinpointed 4 ways to potentially improve our search ranking. Two of those have just been implemented, one is in process, and the fourth will take a little more time and research. Pray for our progress, and pray that women like Kourtney Kardashian will continue to find us online. As always, your tax-free donation goes a long way towards the growth and maintenance of this crucial work.
